Ninth Annual Conflict Transformation Workshop
Gender, Democracy and Peacebuilding in South Asia

The WISCOMP Conflict Transformation Workshops seek
to empower young women and men with the motivation, skills and expertise to participate
in peacebuilding processes in the South Asian region. They are designed with a
purpose to:
- Transform the trust deficit between people of different nationalities, cultures, ethnicities, and religions, and encourage empathy for diverse worldviews;
- Build strategic, cross-border peace partnerships between young South Asians,
- Promote professional development of youth leaders in the field of peacebuilding, and build a gender-sensitive curriculum for the teaching and practice of coexistence and Conflict Transformation in South Asia.
This year, the Conflict Transformation Workshop
will address issues that lie at the intersection of gender, democracy and
peacebuilding in the context of conflicts in the South Asian region.
Who can apply: The Workshop is open to women and men (in the age group of 22 to 35 years) from the South Asian region. Only those who can make a commitment to attend all four days of the Workshop should apply. WISCOMP will cover travel and accommodation for the duration of the Workshop.
To apply: Applicants should send a CV and a 500 – 700 word essay explaining why they are interested in participating, what they hope to learn from the Workshop, and how they plan to disseminate and use this learning. They should also explain how they hope to contribute to the Workshop dialogue.
